First Impressions: Kakushigoto

A quick google search revealed very little about this one, except that it’s a slice of life comedy based on a manga. Hmmm…

Aww~~~ She’s sleeping on her dad~

Ok, so it’s about a dad hiding his job as a manga artist from his daughter? Which he’s kept secret because he thinks it’ll embarrass her and she won’t love him anymore? That’s… not as stupid as it could be. It’s actually kinda sweet and understandable – especially considering that the manga he works on is called “Balls of Fury” (and no, it’s not a sports manga).

I’m digging the art style, and the characters are fairly relatable. The humor’s kind of hit and miss for me, but that’s not really a detractor. The relationship between father and daughter is sweet, and I’m interested to see how it develops from this point. Also, I’d love to know how she hadn’t figured it out on her own, given he and his manga are both apparently fairly famous.

All in all, not a bad first showing. Let me know what you think?
