First Impressions: Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater

Women be fishing.

you know you’ve watched too much anime when the summary claims these prepubescent children are in high school and you’re just like ‘sure’

I went into this expecting an inoffensively generic Cute Girls Doing Cute Things show about fishing. What I got was a mostly inoffensive, above average Cute Girls Doing Not-So-Cute Things show about fishing.

Yeah, it’s good. Only bad thing is the shot of the octopus reaching under Our Hero’s dress. That was unnecessary.

Aside from that one brief moment, this was entertaining, genuinely funny, and really pretty. If no stakes anime about country livin’ are your bag, regardless of the presence (or lack thereof) of three to five instantly recognizable types of Cute Girl, you won’t do wrong to give this a shot. At the very least, it’s 25 minutes of nostalgia for the good old days when people could go outside.

If you become our Patron I probably won’t use the money to go fishing but there’s a better-than-zero chance I’ll think about it for a bit.
