Gymnastics Samurai is an absolutely delightful original anime from MAPPA (who you may recall from another dope ass show this season) about a washed up professional gymnast trying to juggle his faltering career with being a single dad. Also a ninja follows him home.
This show is fun. All the dudes are dorky airheads and Jotaro’s mother and daughter are both smarter than he is. There’s a giant muppet bird in his house that screams at him. The animation is fantastic aside from some slightly wonky 3D compositing in the first scene, and the plot hits that early Samurai Flamenco vibe of being down to earth while also seeming like it could get really, really weird.
