First Impressions: SEVEN KNIGHTS REVOLUTION

You ever see an anime and can tell right away without knowing anything about it that it’s going to be the most tedious, boring, run of the mill, ‘we’re just in this for the paycheck’ nonentity of a series? I tried to get one of my siblings to cover this one, and even volunteered to cover the incredibly suspiciously titled Higehiro: After Being Rejected I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway but they wouldn’t bite.

Ah, well. There is at least one anime based on a mobile game that’s actually good so maybe it’ll surprise me and not be a complete waste of time.

i can get behind that; maybe he’ll destroy this boring show

This was a complete waste of time.

This is bad, and to make matters worse, it’s not even bad in an entertaining or engaging way. At one point a guy got his head bit off and then he turned into a monster and that was cool, but everything else is just boring characters having boring conversations or fighting boring battles with the bare minimum animation required. So, basically, it’s exactly what I thought it was gonna be, and I can’t even work up the gumption to make a joke about the main character sharing a name with a cartoon fish or properly complain about the episode ending with him one-upping the female character who presumably already knows what the fuck she was doing.

If you’ve played a JRPG or seen a fantasy anime, you’ve seen everything this show has to offer. It’s a paycheck, and if you’re not making one to watch it, don’t. I certainly won’t be.
